STRIKE percussion band

           Percussion group called STRIKE

James, flipper and Tom are the 3 musicians that came to our school to perform lots of different ways to make music on percussion instruments.
Drum kit and even on scaffolding... Pacific island log drums, marimba with metal tubes underneath.
Sear drum on beats 2 and 4... High hat on 1,2,3 and 4
Single strokes on the drum...1,2.1,2.1,2.1,2.
On log drums turn stick upside down to get stronger sound...
'Tripplisicity' name of a song-using lots of beaters with soft covers...quick playing on drums and free standing drums.
Clapping to the beat on the drum... Children can try to keep up with the sounds made...
earth, fire, air and water... 4 elements to make music..
they can use different items to show these elements
Spray bottles with kero in to make the fire element.
Log drums are the earth element from pacific island trees.
Wind is made by beating the drums consistently and the flow of how hard they hit it.
Water element is made with drums on scaffolding connected to big Pyrex bowls filled with water and makes a very interesting unique sound...
